Today we started very early, pulling out just a bit before 6:30 am.
We are in three states this day - Missouri ➡️ Kansas ➡️ Colorado and cross into our second time zone, gaining another hour.
Kansas starts out with hills and then level out a bit with not much but scenery to see.
Then on to Colorado, which definitely has a touch of more of a western/deserty look. The land becomes flatter. We see our first antelope along the way.
We stop at the Paint Mines in Colorado which is a nice stretch time and walk. The formations are fascinating and we find some that are quite pretty. The boys could hardly contain their desire to climb the rock formations, but signs strictly forbid them to follow through with their desire!
Our campground this night was Colorado Springs Campground. We arrived after 9 and had to setup in the dark.
