South Dakota ➡️ Minnesota
Today we start big travelling days with our last touring stop being in Mitchell, SD at the Corn Palace.
But before we head out Titus and I went back to the Badlands since we were only 10 min from the one entrance. I wanted to see a bit of what we couldn't last night in the dark. The only animals we saw were the prairie dogs but it was still worth being out to catch some of the fading sunrise glow and to see more of the Badlands.
The variations in colour is so neat and I especially like what the white layer adds to the formations.
Then we packed up the camper and then walked to the famous Wall Drug store, which was only 2 blocks from our campground, before heading out for the day.
They advertise miles in advance... like 40+. They advertise their 5ć coffee and free ice water and much more.

8:45 and we were on our way, the final drive of our journey. Driving through South Dakota was a continuation of acres and acres of hay. They also make use of the median and along the road, so seeing hay bales right beside the road became a unique and familiar sight.
Of course, one needs to buy popcorn. 😀
Then on through Minnesota where lands turn a bit more green with acres and acres of corn fields and the windmills turn.
Sheldon's birthday was the day before we left a month ago and we said for his birthday supper he could pick a place to eat sometime on this trip.
We tried a time or two but didn't get it accomplished. So tonight we said it's to happen. Titus found a Piggy place with bbq etc, but once we got there they were closed! So he chose the unique Mexican place, El Mariachi, next door. It was very good.
And some scenery pics as we make ANOTHER stop for Carlin's bladder needs as we head towards our last campground. 🤔😉
So, so bittersweet!!
