Day 5 - Four Corners and The Arches National Park Colo

Saturday, June 17, 2023

Colorado ➡️ New Mexico ➡️ back in Colorado ➡️ Utah

As we drive along, Colorado land becomes very deserty and the mountains give way to become more rock plateaus and flat. Very little trees and more brushlike/sagebrush foilage.

Our first stop was a drive to Four Corners.  A place where 4 states meet on an Indian reservation land - New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona.  Four places at once, and in different states we stand.

Colorado scenery as we drive along.

We crossed into New Mexico for the Four Corners

Back in Colorado after being at Four Corners

Oh the drive - up and down, bouncing around and solitary for miles!
Like Brandon would later say, "It's like riding a horse!"

seeing formations like ones that we will see at Arches

Looong entrance wait, one of the many...  but worth waiting for. Arches is a place we really enjoyed!

Always wanting to climb!

one of the many ways and steps on the trail to the Delicate Arch

Yes. This is a narrow edge and yes, I walked it with the bottom far below.

Delicate Arch
What a view and beautiful sight!

Sand Dune Arch

Broken Arch

Then we drove on toward Zion National Park for about 5 hours. We saw a muledeer along the way.

And this Utah speed limit is quite the speed and with pulling a camper, keeps the driver from taking advantage of it.

We did a first. Stopped and grilled pork chops for our supper at a truck stop along I70.

Zion River Resort is our stay for the next three nights. It feels good to be at one place for more than a night.
